Mentoring experience is becoming increasingly important for PhDs, whether pursuing a career in academia or industry. Yet, PhD students and postdocs, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), receive little to no mentoring training and often rely on their experience as mentees to determine the type of mentors they will become. If you want to be a good mentor - where do you start?
Please join the Professors for the Future sponsored workshop series MENTORING 101: From Introduction to Implementation! This series will cover topics adapted from the Entering Mentoring text and the UW ICTR that are integral in the building of successful STEM mentoring relationships including workshops, as well as advice from a panel of successful experienced mentors.
Please attend any/all of the workshops!
The successful completion of 4/5 workshops will result in a certificate for the attendee!
