Are you leading discussion sessions and seeking ways to make them more engaging, interactive, and impactful? This workshop is designed to equip discussion facilitators with practical, evidence-based active learning strategies that transform passive audiences into active participants. Whether you’re a teaching assistant, instructor, or facilitator, you’ll discover techniques to encourage critical thinking, foster collaboration, and ensure meaningful participation in your sessions. During this hands-on workshop, we will model active learning strategies, allowing you to experience the outcome of these strategies as a participant, and reflect on adaptation of these strategies for your own classrooms. Facilitators: Nicole Keough, Animal Behavior, and Siuoneh Didarloo, Psychology.
