Microbadge: Supporting Students Difficult Times Submission Guide

Teaching and Mentoring Badge

To earn Microbadge: Supporting Students Difficult Times:

Step 1: Complete the Everything is Not Fine: Supporting Students During Difficult Times workshop.

Step 2: Use this form to submit your response to one of the case studies in activity #3 (you will need to access the additional resources) from the workshop.

  • After reading the case, address the following questions:
    • Keeping in mind the principles of trauma-informed teaching, what are some factors to consider in this situation?
    • What are some potential responses?
  • Slides and additional resources are also available in the video description at the link above.

Step 3: Use the same form to submit a short reflection on how you will use this content.

  • Please reflect on how you will approach supporting students during difficult times, after having completed the workshop, focusing on one or two concrete things you will do.
  • Reflection and metacognition are important elements of your development as an educator. There is no length requirement, although we do not recommend going over about 1 page.

While our staff will review submissions for completeness, we will not automatically respond with feedback.  Please allow 2-3 business days for badges to be issued- you will automatically receive an email from badgr to claim your badge when it is ready.  Please direct any questions to gpi@ucdavis.edu.
